As long as you own or privately rent the property and it is currently occupied i.e. not under renovation, you should qualify for a Free Insulation Grant. If you do not qualify, we can still arrange for an approved installer to provide you with a quotation for the work.
My ECO Grant does not have to be paid back. As long as you qualify, an installer will complete the work then claim the grant to cover the cost of the work.
The grants are part of the Energy Companies Obligation (ECO). Under ECO, Energy Suppliers including British Gas, E.ON, Npower, Scottish Power, SSE and EDF are obliged to pay for insulation in domestic households.
In September 2020, the Green Homes Grant scheme is launched and will provide more funding for people not in receipt of benefits.
If someone in the property receives one or more of the benefits listed below then you should qualify to have Cavity Wall Insulation, Internal Wall Insulation, Loft Insulation or Room in Roof Insulation installed completely free of charge:

Even if you are not entitled to a 100% free insulation grant, EnergyLink can still put you in touch with an approved local installer who can provide you with a quote.
All private householders in receipt of a qualifying benefit can claim a 100% free Cavity Wall Insulation Grant, as long as the property is occupied and not under renovation.
Properties built of brick between 1924 and 1982 are generally suitable for Cavity Wall Insulation, although we can help with properties that were built up to 2005 without insulation.

The property must be owned or privately rented, currently occupied and not under renovation. If you currently receive one or more of the benefits listed above, then you should be entitled to a 100% grant.
There must be 100mm (4 inches) or less of insulation already installed to qualify for a grant. This will typically be level with or below the joists. If it is above this level, we can arrange a free survey and quote to top up to 270mm.

LEARN MOREAs long as you are in receipt of an qualifying benefit as listed above, then you should receive Free Room In Roof Insulation. Even if you do not qualify for a room in roof insulation grant, we can still arrange for an approved installer to give you a quote.
The property must have been constructed with roof rooms or have a loft conversion. There must be little or no insulation in the the walls & ceiling and a fixed staircase must be present (not a pull-down loft ladder or similar). You also need to be a homeowner or private tenant to qualify.
